SunSmart schools
The Cancer Society of New Zealand’s SunSmart Schools programme promotes sun protection programmes in primary and intermediate schools to reduce children’s exposure to UV radiation, and consequently, their risk of developing skin cancer.
The Cancer Society provides support to the schools, and helps them to become SunSmart accredited by working with them to develop and implement sun protection policies and practices. Please click here and visit the society’s website to find out more.
